Pastor Ross and Hisako Yamauchi

Hope Chapel Waseda first opened its doors in March 1998 in Nishi Waseda, Shunjuku-ku, Tokyo. The location has moved from Waseda to Ochanomizu, and from Ochanomizu to Tanashi. We started as 'Hope Chapel NishiTokyo' in August 2006.
When you visit us, you’ll discover that our worship songs are written with ordinary words used in everyday language, and our singing is accompanied by in acoustic guitar.  Hope Chapel Waseda’s teaching is given in English with a Japanese translator.  Don’t be concerned about what you should wear.  You are welcome in a t-shirt and slippers or in a suit.
Ross Yamauchi is our senior pastor.  You probably won’t be able to recognize him when you first arrive because his appearance is as relaxed as our church.  He is a Japanese American who was born and raised in Hawaii – the land of sunshine, surf, and hula!
Please come and visit us.
